Our Behavior & Educational Support Specialists (B.E.S.S.) and support staff are the heart of this mission. Each team member brings a unique combination of expertise, compassion, and dedication to ensure every student receives the individualized support they need to succeed.

Our B.E.S.S. professionals work closely with students to provide guidance, implement behavioral strategies, and foster essential life skills. From one-on-one support to group interventions, they are trained to create inclusive, nurturing environments that celebrate every student’s abilities and potential.

Behind the scenes, our support staff—from facility specialists to administrative assistants—ensure that the school runs smoothly and that students and staff have the tools, resources, and safe environment they need to focus on learning and growth.

Chelsea Hunter, Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.)

Chelsea Hunter is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute’s Tacoma location, where she is dedicated to supporting students with learning differences, behavioral challenges, and special needs. With hands-on experience in elementary special education classrooms in the Bethel School District, Chelsea brings a combination of professional expertise, empathy, and creativity to her work, helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Chelsea is currently pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy at Pierce College, reflecting her commitment to providing holistic support for students, including those who may benefit from physical therapy interventions as part of their educational plan. Her training and certifications, including Right Response Training and childhood trauma-informed practices, equip her to manage challenging behaviors, prevent escalation, and ensure the safety and well-being of every student in her care. At ELI, Chelsea excels at helping students develop coping strategies, self-confidence, and emotional regulation skills, empowering them to embrace their unique strengths and potential. She believes in creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels valued, understood, and capable of achieving success. Her passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences, combined with her hands-on experience and professional dedication, makes Chelsea a vital member of the ELI team. Through her work, she helps students gain the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys continuing her own education, exploring ways to integrate physical therapy and behavioral support, and remaining an advocate for holistic child development.

Jess Elszy,
Autism Specialist & Mental Health Coach

Jess Elszy is an Autism Specialist and Mental Health Coach at Embrace Learning Institute (ELI), where he helps students with learning differences, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and behavioral challenges thrive in a supportive, individualized learning environment. With over 15 years of experience as a Behavioral Therapist, Jess combines evidence-based techniques with holistic strategies to empower students and their families to achieve meaningful growth. Trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and certified in Energy Psychology, Trauma-Informed Coaching, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Jess brings a unique blend of scientific rigor and compassionate care to his work. He specializes in guiding students and caregivers to reduce stress, overcome behavioral challenges, and develop healthy routines that enhance learning, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. At ELI, Jess works closely with students, families, and staff to implement tailored interventions that support academic, social, and emotional success. His expertise ensures that every child receives the attention and strategies they need to flourish in a nurturing, inclusive, and empowering environment. Outside of work, Jess is passionate about holistic wellness, practicing yoga, exploring vegan cuisine, hiking, and engaging in the performing arts. Kenneth Rozin,
Lead Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.)

Kenneth Rozin serves as the Lead Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Bellevue location, where he is dedicated to empowering young minds and fostering student success. With over three years of experience in behavioral and mental health services, Kenneth specializes in delivering personalized, student-centered support to children with diverse learning differences, including ADHD, dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and other developmental challenges. Kenneth's work spans one-on-one and group support sessions, collaborating closely with neurologists, psychologists, therapists, and educators to develop comprehensive strategies that address both academic and social-emotional needs. By integrating evidence-based practices with a compassionate, holistic approach, he helps students overcome learning barriers, build confidence, and develop the skills necessary for independence and long-term success. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, providing a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, mental health, and developmental processes. His expertise includes psychosocial rehabilitation, behavioral interventions, and skill-building programs, allowing him to support children in overcoming past traumas, emotional challenges, and learning difficulties. Marcel Morris,
B.E.S.S.

Marcel Morris is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Bellevue C campus. A dedicated educator, mentor, and father of five, Marcel brings a strong sense of purpose and compassion to his work, driven by the belief that every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Marcel earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Central Washington University in 2019, after beginning his academic journey at Eastern Washington University. His background in the social sciences provides him with a deep understanding of the social, emotional, and behavioral factors that shape youth development, allowing him to connect meaningfully with students from diverse backgrounds. Before joining ELI, Marcel built years of experience supporting and mentoring young people—both in and out of the classroom. He has worked extensively with high school athletes, guiding them not only in developing their athletic abilities but also in building resilience, discipline, and confidence. As a passionate youth football coach, he sees sports as a powerful tool for teaching life lessons—helping students learn about teamwork, accountability, and perseverance. At Embrace Learning Institute, Marcel combines his background in behavioral support and coaching to help students navigate academic challenges and personal growth. His calm, consistent presence allows him to de-escalate difficult situations while empowering students to take ownership of their goals. Whether he's encouraging a student to stay focused in the classroom or helping them find positive outlets outside of school, Marcel's approach is grounded in empathy, structure, and belief in each child's potential. Outside of his professional role, Marcel enjoys spending quality time with his family and continuing his involvement in youth athletics. Tiana Campbell,
Lead Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.)

Tiana Campbell serves as the Lead Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Bellevue location, where she is committed to empowering students with learning differences, behavioral challenges, and special needs. Born and raised in Renton, Washington, Tiana earned her B.S. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Eastern Washington University, providing her with a strong foundation in child development, learning strategies, and behavioral science. With over five years of experience supporting children across elementary, middle, and high school levels, Tiana has developed a comprehensive understanding of how to address diverse academic, social, and emotional needs. Her recent work as a mental health specialist focused on teaching social-emotional learning (SEL), helping students build resilience, self-regulation, and confidence—skills she continues to integrate into her role at ELI. At Embrace Learning Institute, Tiana excels at creating inclusive, nurturing, and empowering learning environments. She collaborates closely with students, families, and educators to implement personalized strategies that enhance academic growth, emotional well-being, and social development. Her passion for helping students reach their fullest potential drives her commitment to hands-on support, skill-building, and SEL-focused instruction. Outside of her professional work, Tiana enjoys cooking, walking her dog, and participating in outdoor activities, embracing opportunities to stay active and engaged with her community. Issac Velasco,
B.E.S.S.

Isaac Velasco is a Behavioral & Emotional Support Specialist at Embrace Learning Institute’s Bellevue Location. In 2023, Isaac graduated from the University of Washington and earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Health & Global Health. Since then, Isaac has taken his skills through behavioral health & health education settings. Throughout his academic and professional career, Isaac has maintained a diligent purpose to serve others and bridge their needs with mentorship, guidance, and patience . Previously as a Behavior Specialist, Isaac provided one-on-one support for children with behavioral, emotional, and mental needs. Isaac worked alongside senior staff to discover children's potential and through individualized strategies help children feel like kids and gain confidence in their own abilities & gifts. Similarly, serving as a Health Educator, Isaac provided support and guidance for adults facing chronic health conditions. Through Motivational Interviewing, Active Listening, and genuine empathy Isaac effectively provided education and guidance so that adults and teens alike believed they could take control over their life and improve their health outcomes. At ELI, Isaac’s purpose is to serve the needs of children with empathy, kindness, and love. Placing their needs above his own so that children have the space to thrive and succeed. Outside of work, Isaac enjoys physical activity, reading up on history or science, spending time with family & friends, and indulging in creative spaces & intentional creation through film, music, art..

Audrey Binns,
B.E.S.S

Audrey is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist at the ELI's Bellevue location. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Washington Tacoma in 2023. Audrey plans to return to school to pursue her master's degree in Psychology while continuing to work with children. She is passionate about supporting children with behavioral and educational needs because it is crucial to her to give back to her own community and to actualize the potential of neurodivergent youth, who have unique gifts to share. When she's not working, Audrey enjoys discussing the human condition, taking long walks, and spending quality time with those she loves.

Chinedu Nnadi, B.E.S.S.

Chinedu Nnadi is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Tacoma location. She brings a strong background in both healthcare and education, holding certifications as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and in CPR/BLS, as well as degrees in Nursing and Child and Youth Development with a specialization in Special Education. Chinedu's work is fueled by a deep sense of purpose—to create lasting, positive change for children who thrive with individualized care and attention. Her combined medical and educational training allows her to approach each student holistically, understanding not just their behavioral and academic needs, but also their emotional and physical well-being. She is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop essential life skills, and experience success both in the classroom and beyond. Throughout her career, Chinedu has supported children with a wide range of learning differences, emotional and behavioral challenges, and developmental needs. Her calm, nurturing presence and ability to connect authentically with each student make her a trusted figure in their growth and success. She values teamwork and collaboration, working closely with families, teachers, and therapists to create supportive, inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive. Beyond her professional expertise, Chinedu has a lifelong love of basketball, which has shaped her leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills. A former college athlete, she proudly earned two championship rings, including one game that ended with her memorable, game-winning three-pointer. Off the court, she enjoys staying active at the gym and exploring new cuisines with friends and family. Jennifer Gonzalez,

Jennifer is a dedicated Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute in Tacoma, where she bring's empathy, enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon in 2025, where she developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, developmental processes, and supportive strategies rooted in psychological science. Fueling her work is a lifelong passion for helping people — a passion that motivates her every day to create safe, nurturing environments where students feel seen, understood, and empowered to succeed. Jennifer is currently planning to pursue a master’s degree in counseling, further expanding her ability to support individuals and contribute meaningfully to their growth and well-being. Katy Dorr,

She has extensive experience supporting students in K–8 classrooms, working with a diverse range of learners, including children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. Katy is deeply passionate about creating inclusive, structured, and empowering learning environments where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. He has served as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and Certified Behavior Technician (CBT), providing individualized interventions that promote positive behavior, social-emotional growth, and academic success. Joe is passionate about empowering students to overcome challenges and develop essential skills, tailoring his approach to each child's unique strengths and needs. Joniq Robinson,
B.E.S.S.

Joniq is a Behavioral & Educational Support Specialist with extensive experience supporting students with diverse behavioral, cognitive, and academic needs. She has a background as a RBT, implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans using evidence-based ABA strategies and data-driven decision-making, including ABC data collection.

Joniq is known for building strong, trust-based relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams through active listening, cultural respect, and collaborative problem-solving. Her approach emphasizes positive behavior change, emotional regulation, and skill development while maintaining a calm, patient, and supportive presence. With compassion, Joniq views her work as more than a role, it is a commitment to contributing meaningfully to learning communities that recognize and nurture the brilliance and potential of every student.

Rebecca Barnett, B.E.S.S.

Rebecca Barnett is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Tacoma location. She brings a strong background in behavioral support and mental health, with extensive experience working with children with behavioral disorders in both school and clinical settings before joining ELI. Rebecca is passionate about helping students develop effective coping strategies for self-regulation, using evidence-based mindfulness techniques to help children recognize early signs and triggers that can lead to emotional or behavioral escalation. Currently in her final semester earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Rebecca has also completed certifications in mindfulness, anxiety management, and depression management through Pesi's continuing education programs, equipping her with the tools to provide comprehensive, personalized support to students. Terrance Slaughter, B.E.S.S.

Terrance Slaughter is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Tacoma location. He holds a Master's degree in Health Education and brings a strong passion for supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. Inspired by his own experiences as a child who needed guidance and encouragement, Anthony is dedicated to helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Anthony specializes in behavioral support, problem-solving, and motivational strategies, using individualized approaches to meet each child's unique needs. Torin Kearns,

With eight years of experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and other diverse learning and developmental needs, Torin has built expertise in helping students overcome challenges, develop critical skills, and achieve personal and academic growth. He has worked across multiple settings, which has given him a broad perspective on the strategies and supports that help students thrive. Currently completing his undergraduate degree in Sociology, Torin applies his academic knowledge to understand better behavior, learning differences, and the unique needs of each student. Born and raised in Vermont, he recently relocated to Washington State in 2023 and has enthusiastically joined the ELI team, bringing his experience, empathy, and dedication to students and families. Outside of work, Torin is passionate about music and creative expression, producing music, DJing, and attending concerts. He also enjoys traveling and attending sporting events, embracing every opportunity for exploration and connection. Pamela Lozano, B.E.S.S.

Pamela Lozano is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Bellevue location. She is deeply passionate about supporting children with special needs, dedicating her skills and energy to helping students overcome challenges, develop essential skills, and achieve their full potential. Over the past two years, Pamela has worked in various classroom settings, providing individualized support to students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. She finds profound fulfillment in witnessing the growth of each child and being an active part of their educational journey. Tyler Kussman, B.E.S.S.

Tyler Kussman is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Central Washington University, which has provided him with a strong foundation in critical thinking, problem-solving, and understanding human behavior. He travels to Japan annually to visit family, and he has explored Hawaii, London, and Scotland, embracing opportunities to learn from different cultures and perspectives. Nicholas Myers, B.E.S.S.

Nicholas Myers is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. He holds double bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Human Development, with a minor in Psychology, providing a strong academic foundation for understanding human behavior, developmental differences, and individualized learning strategies. Nicholas also holds certifications in AARC, CPR, and CPI, equipping him with the skills to ensure student safety while implementing effective behavioral support strategies. Passionate about working with children, Nicholas is motivated by their infectious energy, curiosity, and resilience. He specializes in helping students develop social-emotional skills, self-regulation strategies, and confidence in their abilities, creating an environment where every child can thrive. Larry Patterson, B.E.S.S.

Larry Patterson is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, bringing extensive experience in youth development, education, and behavioral support. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Principia College, providing a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, social systems, and diverse cultural perspectives. From 2016 to 2024, Larry worked in high schools as both a coach and residential parent, providing academic, athletic, and personal guidance to students. He has spent over 15 summers at a premier overnight camp, holding leadership roles including Senior Counselor, Program Lead, Program Director, Ambassador, and Staff Development Director. These experiences enabled him to develop expertise in mentorship, program management, and fostering positive relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds. In 2022, Larry further expanded his impact by working as a Direct Support Specialist and later as a Behavior Specialist at Somerset Elementary, where he focused on providing individualized support to students with behavioral and learning needs. These roles reinforced his belief in the importance of patience, consistency, and presence when supporting young people, and deepened his commitment to creating safe, nurturing, and structured environments where students can thrive. Outside of his professional work, Larry is passionate about basketball and music, finding creative outlets that fuel his energy and inspire his work with youth. His dedication to guiding students toward success, combined with his leadership skills and hands-on experience, makes him a key contributor to the Embrace Learning Institute's mission.

Juliana Barajas, B.E.S.S.

Juliana Barajas is a Behavioral and Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, where she works closely with children and adolescents to support their learning, behavior, and emotional growth. Christopher (Chase) Scott, B.E.S.S.

Christopher “Chase” Scott is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, bringing both passion and experience to his work with children of all abilities. From a young age, Chase knew he wanted to work with kids, but his dedication deepened when his oldest nephew was diagnosed with Autism. This personal connection inspired him to pursue a career advocating for children with diverse learning needs, helping them develop essential skills, grow in confidence, and thrive academically and socially. Chase combines his professional dedication with an impressive athletic background. He played Semi-Pro football in Kentucky, where he achieved the pinnacle of success by winning a championship and earning a ring. This milestone reflects his perseverance, teamwork, and commitment to excellence. These same qualities now inform his approach to supporting students, fostering safe, encouraging, and motivating learning environments. Outside of work, Chase enjoys a variety of activities that reflect his dynamic personality and love for connection. He is an avid sports fan, attending events in person or cheering from home, and he cherishes traveling back home to Kentucky to visit family. He also enjoys spending quality time with friends and loved ones, as well as hobbies like video gaming, coloring, and crafting, which allow him to unwind and express his creativity. Above all, Chase values making the most of every moment, building meaningful connections, and sharing joy with the people around him.

Victor Gamboa, B.E.S.S.

Victor Gamboa is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute's Bellevue campus. He is a Certified Behavior Technician with two years of professional experience in behavioral and mental health, bringing a dynamic blend of athletic discipline, educational insight, and a passion for supporting neurodivergent children. Victor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and a minor in Psychology from Eastern Washington University, giving him a unique perspective on motivation, communication, and goal-setting. Victor's educational journey began in 5th grade, when he was selected to assist teachers in the resource room, sparking his lifelong commitment to helping children with diverse learning needs. That same year, he discovered his love for football, which led him to coach youth teams as a freshman in high school, igniting his understanding of the importance of mentorship and guiding the next generation. An accomplished athlete, Victor played football from 5th grade through age 27, earning 3 Big Sky Conference Championships and an All-Big Sky Honorable Mention as a freshman. He also played professionally in the Canadian Football League for three years with the BC Lions. These experiences instilled in him the values of perseverance, leadership, and teamwork, which he now applies to his work supporting students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Victor is deeply committed to creating motivating, safe, and communicative environments where students can thrive and see the possibilities within themselves that they might not otherwise recognize. Outside of ELI, Victor continues his coaching journey as the Defensive Coordinator for Mercer Island High School and as a Defensive Backs coach at Rise Football Academy in Puyallup, WA. When he's not coaching, he enjoys travel food videos, music, reading, boxing, family time, traveling, and rest, bringing the same energy and dedication to his personal life as he does to his professional mission of empowering youth.

Tiffani Ingram,
B.E.S.S.

Tiffani Ingram is a Behavioral & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, passionately committed to supporting children with diverse social, emotional, and educational needs. She brings hands-on experience as a Behavior Specialist in therapeutic day camps and has worked extensively as a Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) in both the Bellevue and Kent school districts. Tiffani has worked with children aged 5 to 16, both verbal and non-verbal, across a broad spectrum of special needs, helping them develop positive behaviors, social-emotional skills, and essential life skills to promote growth and achieve academic success. With a strong foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and a micro-degree in psychology, Tiffani combines evidence-based strategies with a compassionate approach to foster an inclusive, supportive, and empowering learning environment for every student. Her expertise allows her to implement individualized interventions that address behavioral challenges while promoting confidence, independence, and resilience. Tiffani is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue University, on track to complete her program in June 2025, with plans to continue her education toward a Master's degree in Psychology. Andrew Ikerd,

Andrew Ikerd is a Behavioral & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, dedicated to supporting students with diverse behavioral, emotional, and educational needs. He brings a wealth of experience from his work as a Behavioral Technician and is certified in EMT, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens, equipping him with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective, and compassionate support to all students. Andrew began his career at the age of 20, working with children in a high school environment to assist students with special needs. Since then, he has cultivated a deep passion for empowering students to overcome challenges, develop self-confidence, and achieve their personal and academic goals. His hands-on experience in various educational and behavioral settings allows him to implement individualized support strategies that truly make a difference. A creative spirit, Andrew is also an advocate for artistic expression and its role in student growth. Outside of work, he channels his creativity into tattoo artistry, woodworking, painting, and restoring cars, hobbies that reflect his attention to detail, patience, and innovative thinking. Delaney Williams, B.E.S.S.

With approximately four years of experience in the behavioral health field, Delaney has worked closely with children of varying needs, helping them develop critical social, emotional, and academic skills in both individual and group settings. Hafsa has over 4.5 years of hands-on experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD), and other neurodiverse profiles. Her professional journey also includes two years of teaching overseas in low-SES communities, where she witnessed a critical lack of awareness about special education. This formative experience strengthened her commitment to advocating for children of all backgrounds. Outside of her professional work, she channels her creativity into culinary arts, inspired by her mother's traditional Pakistani cooking, and has experience catering for large groups. He has served students within both the Franklin Pierce School District and the Tacoma School District, where he worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional supporting learners with diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. In his role as a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute, Davion is dedicated to creating structured, supportive learning environments where students feel safe, understood, and empowered to succeed. He works closely with students to support academic engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behavior development, while collaborating with educators and staff to ensure individualized support is consistently implemented. Davion is currently pursuing a degree in Secondary Mathematics, with the goal of transitioning into teaching at the secondary level. He is passionate about helping students build confidence in their abilities, develop problem-solving skills, and discover their potential as learners. Shahed Osman, B.E.S.S.

Trung Banh,

Trung Banh is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist with over five years of hands-on experience supporting children and teens in behavioral health and educational settings. He has worked closely with students with autism, emotional and behavioral disorders, and developmental disabilities across both clinic-based and school environments. Prior to joining Embrace Learning Institute, Trung served as a Certified Behavior Therapist and Employment Specialist, where he supported individuals in developing practical life skills, recognizing their strengths, and building confidence in daily routines. This experience has strengthened his ability to adapt to each student’s unique needs while maintaining environments that are safe, supportive, and positive. In addition to his professional work, Trung has spent more than 15 years coaching wrestling. His coaching background has deeply influenced his approach to working with students, emphasizing patience, structure, resilience, and consistent encouragement. He believes growth happens at an individual pace and values effort, persistence, and personal progress. Trung is excited to be part of the ELI team and is passionate about helping students feel understood, supported, and empowered as they work toward their goals.

Kobe Phillips, Teacher's Assistant & Behavioral Educational Support Specialist

Kobe Phillips serves as a Teacher's Assistant and Behavioral Educational Support Specialist at Embrace Learning Institute, where he is committed to supporting students with learning differences, behavioral challenges, and special needs. With a Bachelor's degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Behavioral Science and a Master's degree in Nursing, Kobe combines academic knowledge, clinical experience, and hands-on educational expertise to empower students to reach their full potential. Kobe has extensive experience working with middle and high school students with physical, intellectual, and behavioral challenges, as well as supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in clinical settings. He has collaborated with numerous accessible programs in the greater Seattle area, including Seattle Children's Hospital's "Project SEARCH," where he contributed to creating adaptive learning and work environments for individuals with diverse needs. At ELI, Kobe focuses on creating a supportive, inclusive, and judgment-free environment, helping students navigate challenges such as learning differences, behavioral concerns, and difficulties with emotional regulation. His approach emphasizes personalized guidance, positive reinforcement, and advocacy, ensuring that every student feels seen, understood, and empowered to succeed. Kobe's passion lies in championing the underdog, fostering resilience, and helping students recognize their inherent strengths and potential. Whether supporting youth struggling with substance use, learning disabilities, or behavioral hurdles, his goal is to equip them with the tools, confidence, and encouragement needed to achieve their goals and thrive academically and personally. Chris Furry,

Chris Furry is a Behavior & Educational Support Specialist (B.E.S.S.) at Embrace Learning Institute’s Tacoma campus, where he brings a strong blend of educational leadership, mentorship, and real-world experience to his work with students. Born in Sacramento, California, Chris has spent years supporting learners across a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Chris has taught English, history, and AVID at the secondary level and has served as both an English Department Chair and a National Honor Society Advisor. His experience in education includes providing individualized instruction, mentoring students, and supporting learners through academic, social, and behavioral challenges. He is especially skilled at building meaningful relationships with students and helping them develop confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills. Before entering education, Chris served in the United States Army from 2007 to 2013 as an Ammunition Specialist. His military service helped shape his disciplined, adaptable, and calm approach—qualities that now guide his work in supporting students during moments of growth, challenge, and transition. In addition to his work at ELI, Chris is a published author, podcast host, and avid baseball fan. He values storytelling, collaboration, and connection, and brings those interests into his interactions with students whenever possible. Chris is passionate about helping students feel understood, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive academically and socially.
